Breathing New Life into Heritage Assets | The Fremantle Pod Hotel Project

DAP Approval Received.

We are thrilled to share that the Metro Inner Development Assessment Panel on Tuesday approved our amended DAP applicating for a three-storey pod-style hotel on Essex Street, right in the heart of Fremantle.

This innovative development by EVT (LyLo brand) converts two heritage buildings into a 263-person accommodation. It includes communal dining, kitchen, laundry, bathroom facilities, a small bar, and even brings heritage façades back to life.

Our role: Planning Consultant

This project is a fantastic example of context-sensitive planning. It provides affordable, high-density accommodation while breathing new life into underused heritage assets.

A big shout-out to EVT / LyLo, architect, consultants, heritage bodies, Fremantle Council and the DAP members for working collaboratively to bring this to fruition.

We look forward to seeing this project take shape on site over the next 12-18 months, a real boost for Fremantle’s vibrant port precinct!
